My 1-Hour Weekly Prep + 2 Easy Soups

Oi, Gente!

It's soup season, and since you're a regular here, I know you've got some leftover beans in your freezer. Right? RIGHT? 👀

And if you don't... here's your sign to really turn having beans on hand into a weekly, or bi-weekly habit. It helps so much.

Making a pot of beans is one of the steps in my "1-hour weekly prep" (you can watch the video with my "meal prep" strategy here).

I love it because, when you've got beans ready to go, weeknight soups like these come together fast.

Here's what is (or could be) on your menu this week:

Caldinho de Feijão

This creamy black beans soup is smooth, comforting, and ready in under 30 minutes.

This is the kind of soup you make when you want something warm and satisfying without a lot of fuss. And don't skip the toppings! They add color, flavor and delicious texture to the soup.

Sopa de Feijão com Macarrão

This black beans and pasta soup is hearty and delicious.

The pasta makes it feel like a real meal, and the breadcrumb topping gives it a farofa-like crunch that I absolutely love. It's one of those everyday classics you just need in your life.

Both of these soups are proof that having beans ready to go changes everything. If you're not already doing the batch-and-freeze thing, check out the video and see how I set myself up for the whole week in just one hour.

P.S. If you watch the video, subscribe while you're there! I've got more videos coming in 2026.

Oi, Gente! If you've ever been to a Brazilian churrascaria or a family gathering where the table is packed with food, you've probably seen salada de palmito sitting right there somewhere. It's that classic salad that quietly shows up everywhere like restaurants, potlucks, Sunday lunches... It's fresh, crisp, full of tang, and also endlessly customizable... so much so that growing up our hearts of palm salads hardly ever looked or tasted the same. That's what I love about it. There's no single...

Oi, Gente! Everyone knows Brazilians love their brigadeiro. It’s an undeniable part of our DNA. But rolling dozens of little balls and coating them in sprinkles? That’s a whole other story. I know I don’t always have the patience for it. Growing up, my mom skipped all the rolling and just made brigadeirão instead. Same chocolatey brigadeiro flavor, just turned into a silky, sliceable dessert that you pour into a pan and let the oven do the work. No standing over the stovetop, stirring for 20...

Oi, Gente! This week I've been recipe testing a very special dessert 👀 which means I had no time to think about dinners. So, I relied on my almighty chimichurri, and this baked chimichurri salmon has reigned supreme here almost every night 😬 It’s bright, herby, and packed with flavor, perfect for a weeknight, since the chimichurri does most of the heavy lifting. Spoon it on, bake, done. If you already have leftover chimichurri, like I always do, even better. If not, it takes five minutes to...
