The Smartest Way to Make NYE Drinks

Oi, Gente!

New Year's Eve is around the corner, and whether you're hosting, bringing drinks somewhere, or just chilling at home, here's the move:

make cocktails that don't keep you stuck in the kitchen all night.

I'm talking batch drinks, baby.

And ones that are so easy to whip up multiples without breaking too much of a sweat.

Here are some NYE-perfect choices 🥂

Batida de Café

This Brazilian coffee cocktail is creamy, boozy, and caffeinated... basically designed to help sleepy heads stay awake past midnight.

Make it ahead, keep it chilled, and pour it into martini glasses when you're ready. It's smooth, sweet, and just strong enough to keep the energy up.

Strawberry Caipirinha

For the fruity drink lovers... a whole pitcher of caipirinha with fresh strawberries.

Mix it up before people arrive, keep it in the fridge, and you're done. It's refreshing, looks gorgeous, and disappears fast.

Porto Tonico

An easy way to impress a chic crowd. This isn't a batch drink, but it's so simple you can make several at once without thinking about it.

White port + tonic water + a citrus twist. That's it. Sophisticated, easy, and perfect for people who want something light and bubbly.

And If You're Going for Cozy: Quentão

If you're somewhere cold, chilling at home, or just want a warm drink to sip on the couch while you count down to midnight, quentão is your answer. It's a Brazilian spiced hot toddy made with cachaça, citrus, and spices and it's perfect for that cozy, yet festive vibe.

I just published a video on YouTube showing how to make it. Click below to watch, and if you're not subscribed yet, do it 💛 I've got more coming in 2026!

Pick one, pick all four... whatever keeps you out of bartender mode and actually enjoying your night.

Oi, Gente! Ground beef is one of those universally loved, affordable ingredients making it the MVP of midweek meals. It was one of my favorite things to eat growing up, and my mom's favorite ingredient to cook with during the week. She loved making this ensopado de carninha moída com azeitona (juicy ground beef with olives) because it was that easy enough thing to make even after a long workday. And now, me too! My master tip: I always make more than one batch, to have leftovers to freeze or...

Oi, Gente! We're officially in that part of winter where it's just... cold and gross... ugh... But that's when Brazilian stews really shine. They're warming, comforting, and exactly what January needs. Here are two I've been thinking about this week: Ensopado de Frango This Brazilian Chicken Stew is super simple, super comforting, and no fancy ingredients required. It's chicken thighs and drumsticks in a luscious broth with potatoes and veggies. One pot, minimal fuss, and the leftovers are...

Oi, Gente! It's soup season, and since you're a regular here, I know you've got some leftover beans in your freezer. Right? RIGHT? 👀 And if you don't... here's your sign to really turn having beans on hand into a weekly, or bi-weekly habit. It helps so much. Making a pot of beans is one of the steps in my "1-hour weekly prep" (you can watch the video with my "meal prep" strategy here). I love it because, when you've got beans ready to go, weeknight soups like these come together fast. Here's...
